Daisy Chain Kids OT

Daisy Chain Kids OT is a mobile occupational therapy service who offers therapy intervention and assessments within the Frankston, Mornington and Casey areas at childcares, kinders, schools, homes and telehealth.

Daisy Chain Kids OT aims to increase your child’s independence towards the following common goals:

  • Self-Care

    Toileting: identifying toileting readiness, environmental supports, toileting delays, sensory challenges, toileting routines, fear of toileting.

    Dressing: dressing and undressing routines, manipulating buttons and zips, organisation and dressing appropriately for the weather

    Bathing: bathing routines, sensory challenges - difficulties tolerating hair/face washing, organisation and planning.

    Feeding: sensory challenges associated with feeding, meal time routines, cutlery use

  • Social & Emotional Development

    Social skills: establishing and maintaining friendships with peers, understanding appropriate social behaviours (e.g. turn taking, sharing) and identifying social cues.

    Self regulation: modulating appropriate arousal levels to sustain attention and concentration and emotional regulation required for social engagement and learning demands, parent education around the importance of co-regulation.

  • Fine Motor Skills

    School demands: producing legible handwriting with a functional pencil grasp, drawing, scissor skills, typing skills.

    Self care: manipulating buttons and zips, tying shoelaces, using cutlery, opening bottles/packets

    Play skills: grasping and releasing objects, building with blocks, threading and lacing toys

  • Gross Motor Skills

    Ball skills: catching, throwing or kicking a ball

    Play: keeping up with peers in P.E. or at recess/lunch, balancing and climbing on playground equipment, bike riding

    Table top activities: sitting upright at a desk with appropriate seated posture

    Body awareness: increasing awareness of where your child’s body is in space, reducing clumsiness
